This beautiful lithograph entitled "Tanker at Sunset" depicts a middle east seascape. It is signed in pencil and numbered 891/950 by the artist Violet Parkhurst (1921-2008).

Violet's legendary seascapes are a rare subject matter for a female artist. She is universally admired around the world. Collectors of her work include four US Presidents, two Chinese Presidents, and the King of Saudi Arabia. Her paintings are on permanent collection in many museums including the China National Museum of Fine Art and the Stockholm Museum. She has also been on exhibit in the Louvre and Prado Museums.

Condition:
There are small 1-2" vertical folds below the print: one passes through the "u" of her pencil signature, one is horizontal middle, and one passes through the pencil numbering. They may be hard to see in the pictures because of how faint they are. There is also a small dog earmark in the bottom right corner. Overall, these small defects take nothing away from the print.
