Weeping Cherry Tree Hand Painted Japanese Silk 4 Panel Folding Screen by Kanpo Shiozawa for Fuji-Torii - Two Side, Mountain Scene

This phenomenal full size changing screen features the image of a weeping cherry tree on one side and a mountain scene on the other.
The weeping cherry has depth and the cherry petal leaves sway in the spring air. The background is also exquisite and made of multi-layered "washi" paper pasted onto a wooden frame covered in square gold leaves.

This folding screen was made by Fuji-Torii. Their screens are 100% made in Japan in the traditional way used in the Muromachi era (1336-1573). The artist SHIOZAWA, KANPO was born in 1925 and received multiple awards at the Shinseisaku Association Exhibition. He has created paintings for Fuji-torrii since 1950s and In 1996, he was commissioned to create paintings for the Zenkoji Temple in Nagano.

Condition:
This amazing item is in good vintage condition. There is a small puncture on the side of the weeping cherry; far right panel (photo #10 and video). There are 4 holes/punctures on the back/mountain side of this screen. Two of the largest holes can be seen on the bottom left near the tag(photo # 6), and the bottom right on the mountain scene side(photo #7). There are two more in the higher area; one on the middle panel of the mountain scene, and the other one is on the outer panel but has been lovingly repaired by the previous owner(photo # 8, 9). These take little away from this amazing piece of artwork but we have still discounted the price 15% to account for it. Please see photos for more details and don't forget to use the zoom feature!
